Person Place Thing Episode 3: Michael Pollan

Nov 3, 2011

Michael Pollan has a knack for expressing complex ideas with luminous brevity. His mantra “Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants.”, is no doubt tattooed on the arms and minds of many an activist concerned with nutrition or ecology, economics, agricultural policy, or really good pie. It is his ability to see the many implications of what ends up on our plates that makes his work so intriguing. Pollan is a professor of journalism at UC Berkeley the author of five New York Times bestsellers. He describes himself as “a nature writer who doesn’t like camping."
