92NY Nursery School Afterschool is a boutique enrichment program designed specifically for children enrolled in a 9 am - 1 pm and 9 am - 2 pm day. These one-hour classes offer your child the unique opportunity to celebrate the best that 92NY has to offer four days a week here after school! The Nursery School has partnered with other departments at 92NY to offer a menu of afterschool classes.

Each class has an opportunity to sign up for one customized afterschool enrichment option a day. Children are escorted to and from their afterschool enrichment activity by early childhood experts and are supported by the Nursery School Team! A healthy snack is also offered to children who have a 2 pm dismissal.

Sports Skills and Drills – Taught by The May Center For Health and Fitness 
For our youngest athletes, professional coaches will work with your child on basketball, soccer, tennis, baseball, and obstacle course fundamentals!

The Music Workshop – Taught by the School of Music 
Led by longtime children’s music educator Paul Williams, children are introduced to the piano, violin, guitar, ukulele, recorder, percussion, and more, listening to and having hands-on time with a new instrument each week. They explore rhythm through fun activities in movement and creative play, and every class includes a sing-along. This experience invites children to develop leadership skills, practice social skills and enjoy music together. Giving young children a foundation in music basics makes a profound impact on development and early childhood learning. Start them young and watch them thrive! 

Super Soccer Stars 
Learn soccer with the pros that know soccer best. Weekly classes will focus on teaching your child the fundamentals of soccer in a fun and non-competitive environment. Super Soccer Stars’ unique curricula focus on positive reinforcement to make sure each child feels supported and confident in his or her own abilities, allowing kids to improve at their own rate. 

Messy Play and More – Taught by the 92NY Lipschultz Parenting Center
Bring on the mess! Let your child celebrate the joys of sensory play, observing, and exploring with our experts from the Parenting Center. Slime, foam, sand play, and more. 

Musical Theatre – Taught by the 92NY Musical Theater & Theater for Young Audiences
If your child is already performing for you at home, or your child needs a little more encouragement, then this is the class for them. This process-based workshop provides a unique, profound experience for students to explore all aspects of musical theater. In a warm, supportive environment, students explore every step—from casting to opening night—learning what it’s like to create and perform a musical while problem solving and building teamwork and self-esteem. Everyone has the chance to shine in musicals drawn from a canon of child-friendly shows that fully engage the whole class.

Ninja Parkour – Taught by the May Center for Health and Fitness 
Our 92NY young-child ninja, parkour, and movement curriculum encourage the development of focus, strength, power, agility, and teamwork through the use of Ninja Warrior curriculum and gymnastics equipment. 

Sculpture – Taught by the Art Center 
Introduce your child to the world of ceramics through material exploration and building techniques, such as pinching and constructing with slabs and coils. Courses progress to expressing ideas, showcasing creativity, and exploring design. Class projects may include sculptures focused on telling stories, inventing fantasy animals, creating self-portraits, designing interiors and exteriors of buildings, jewelry, beads, cups, plates, and more. 

Ballet – Taught by the Harkness Dance Center
A warm and fun introduction to ballet will encourage age-appropriate creativity, musicality, and physicality. Your children will learn the joy of dance while practicing the early foundation skills of the ballet technique. 

Swim – Taught by the 92NY Aquatics Department 
Give your child a chance to learn the basics of swim right here at 92NY! Our enthusiastic instructors will provide lessons designed to meet the needs of your child with small group sizes. A towel, bathing suit, and swim cap are a must for this class.
