The 92nd Street Y, New York Nursery School is not only known for its talented teachers and incredible programming, but its success is also attributed to a very strong and committed parent community. Each new year offers a time of learning, growth, friendship, and fun for the entire family and our parents often make friends they will have long after the youngest child leaves the school.
It is our hope that every parent will get involved in our very special school, and, no matter how much time you have or whether you are in the workplace or at home, there are volunteer opportunities that accommodate everyone’s schedules.
The Annual Book Fair, Bake Sale, Newsletter, and Mitzvah Committees are all parent driven and offer many volunteer experiences to suit both your interests and availability. Our Annual Benefit relies heavily on parent volunteers and is one of the most fun and rewarding ways to be involved at the school. It is also our parent community that helps organize unique social experiences including a Lunch and Learn series open to all parents, class cocktail parties and Parents’ Night Out for each class. We also believe strongly in engaging your extended family in our community and invite them to become involved through our Grandparent and Special Friends Committees.
As a family in our Nursery School Community, you will also have access to the world class programming available at the 92nd Street Y throughout the year, including the 92NY Lipschultz Parenting Center, numerous classes for children and adults, special speaking events focusing on early childhood development with experts in their fields, and the renowned 92NY Talks Series.
We look forward to getting to know all of you and encourage you to make the most of your time at this very special school.
