Men and Women in the Kitchen

Apr 9, 2012

Padma Lakshmi and Amanda Hesser were joined by Adam Gopnik for a talk: Men and Women in the Kitchen.

“Somebody once said,” Adam Gopnik began the conversation, “one of the stereotypes of, at least the western food world, is that men are chefs, and women are cooks.. did you feel that at all growing up?”

“In my family,” Hesser explained, “everyone cooked, but it was more like the women were the bosses.”

“Like most of life,” responded Lakshmi.
