92NY Confronts Hate

An Urgent Examination of the Rise of Hatred in America

A young woman asked Roxane Gay for advice on dealing with racism and sexism; this is what she said.

Jan 12, 2017

Roxane Gay was here with Buzzfeed's Saeed Jones to read from her work, talk with Saeed and take questions from the audience. At the end of the talk, a young woman asked Gay for advice on dealing with racism and sexism today. "It's ok to demand to things be better right now," she answered, in part.

The author of Bad Feminist, Gay has two new books on the way: the short-story collection Difficult Women and Hunger: A Memoir of (My) Body.
