Dr. Martin Duberman, a gay rights activist and Professor of History Emeritus at Herbert Lehman College, and Esther Newton, a cultural anthropologist, discuss the modern landscape of sexuality and homosexuality. Duberman discusses the historical context of sexuality and homosexuality, while Newton examines the topic from a cross cultural perspective, drawing on her groundbreaking work on the ethnography of lesbian and gay groups in America. The discussion concludes with audience questions.
