Ozempic; Weight Loss Drugs and Lifestyle Medicine in Healthcare Today – A Real World Look at the Trend

Dr. Reshmi Srinath and Dr. David Dunaief in Conversation with Katera Noviello-Kapoor

Mar 12, 2024

Join Spark Your Health for a riveting discussion delving into the pros, cons, and misinformation about Ozempic, weight loss drugs, along with the realities and benefits of lifestyle change as a main modality to prevention and overall health. Diving deep into this rising health trend, Spark Your Health is joined by Dr. Reshmi Srinath, Director of Obesity Medicine at Mount Sinai Health Systems and Dr. David Dunaief, Integrative Physican at Medical Compass MD, and a specialist on prevention, management, and reversal of chronic diseases through multidisciplinary approaches.

Weight loss drugs are sweeping the nation, but how much do we understand about these drugs? With new and popular medicines and modalities comes the need for clarification on the pros and cons that the drug offers, especially from a clinical perspective as well as a larger view of the trend at large. As leaders in their respective fields, both Dr. Srinath and Dr. Dunaief look forward to sharing where the medical world stands on Ozempic and other weight loss drug prescriptions, including what kind of questions they are seeing from patients, where confusions are arising, and some of the biggest misconceptions. This conversation will touch on Ozempic’s role in treatment for people with Type 2 diabetes, long term health implications for weight management, and the advantages and disadvantages of utilizing a weight loss medication versus lifestyle medicine. While understanding every patient and situation is different, this conversation based on real-world experience and facts will lay out basic trends, present current research reports, and explain the pertinent information when considering weight loss drugs for weight management.
