Multi-instrumentalist, composer and vocalist Cordeone is a self-taught musician currently residing in New York City.
Born and raised in France to Portuguese parents, he picked up the accordion at age nine, playing traditional ball music and competing in local and national talent tournaments. He has since developed his musical arsenal to include the piano, drums, classical guitar, Portuguese guitar, Brazilian percussions, and the bass and has adapted his skills to add Jazz, Hip Hop, Funk, Reggae, Fado and Brazilian music to his musical repertoire.
Winner of the 2019 Fado Award at the International Portuguese Music Awards (IPMAs) and the 2019 Solo Vocal Award at the New York Jazz Festival, Cordeone continues to push the envelope when it comes to the versatility of the accordion.
He has recorded and contributed his talents to the works of world-class musicians and artists, including Big Joe Turner & His Memphis Blues Caravan, Turbulence, Lívia Mattos, Ben L’Oncle Soul, Ricardo Ribeiro and actress Jacqueline Corado and has scored several independent films. He has performed worldwide at numerous festivals, including Terres Du Son (France), Ronnie Scott (England), Lincoln Center (NY-USA), AfroFest (South Africa) and Bahia Ithaparica (Brazil). With two albums under his belt, Vida and Miss Erzulie, Cordeone is currently working on his third album, which is slated for release in fall 2019.
