One of the most extraordinary young singers to study at our School of Music and the only jazz vocalist among our current Recanati-Kaplan Scholars, 16-year-old Anaïs Reno has a voice that belies her years. Soulful and deep, it has already caught the ears and attention of many, with competition wins at Carnegie Hall, Michael Feinstein’s Great American Songbook Academy, and more, performances with the sensational Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks, and sets at New York City’s top jazz clubs, from Birdland to Dizzy’s at Jazz at Lincoln Center. Anaïs joins us by livestream, accompanied by pianist Tedd Firth (John Pizzarelli, Michael Feinstein, Barbara Cook), for a Saturday afternoon concert she has winkily titled, “The Quarantine Blues.” Featuring music by some of her favorite composers—Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, Antonio Carlos Jobim and others—Anaïs brings her irresistible combination of sophisticated artistry and youthful charm to a concert you don’t want to miss!
