Ida Marx grew up in New York City. She holds a BFA in Media arts, and an MPS graduate degree in art therapy from the School of Visual Arts. She has also studied at the Art Students League, and Pratt Institute. Ida has worked as a teaching artist in many locations throughout New York City and for the past 14 years, and as an art therapist primarily with children, in non-profit organizations and in private practice.

As an illustrator and comic artist, Ida has had her work published in various publications, including the New Yorker, Simon & Schuster, Grolier publications, Fantagraphics books, and Drawn & Quarterly, among others.
Ida has exhibited her paintings and 3D multimedia boxes in both group and solo shows in the New York area as well as internationally.
In addition to painting, Ida focuses her attention on origami, which she teachings to both children and adults, in groups and also individually, both in-person and virtually.
