Working from direct observation, you’ll learn to render what’s in front of you and create depth and luminosity as you explore the use of textures and different surfaces. Beginning with basic forms, the class progresses to cover perspective, value and tone as well as the basics of color theory. All levels; no experience necessary.

Verdiana Patacchini is an Italian visual artist specializing in painting and ceramic sculpture. Originally from the Tuscia region, she is now based in New York City as a naturalized American.
She holds a BA in Painting and a MFA in the Enhancement and Conservation of Contemporary Art Heritage, both from the Academy of Fine Art Via Ripetta of Rome. She also taught Painting as an Assistant Professor and taught Fresco Techniques at the Academy of Fine Art, ABAV, in Viterbo, Italy.

Verdiana’s work has been exhibited globally in galleries and institutions, including the Consulate General of Italy in New York, the Katzen Arts Center at American University in Washington, D.C., Salon Beau Regard in Yverdon Les Bains, Switzerland, the Emmeotto Gallery in Rome, the Central Park Tower in New York, and Future Fair in New York.
Her artistic contribution has been acknowledged by The Wall Street Journal, which reviewed Verdiana’s work as one of the highlights of her work at the Future Fair 2023, presented by Superzoom Gallery in New York. Additionally, she is among the winners of the Tri-State Art Prize 2023, organized by the Italian Consulate and the Italian Cultural Institute of New York.

Anthony DiPaola is an American painter who lived in Germany for a decade and recently returned to New York where he lives and works. He holds a BFA and MFA in painting in addition to an MA in Philosophy. He has had international solo exhibitions, primarily in nonprofit spaces and various college and university galleries including the Ruhr-Universität (Bochum, Germany), Gudelsky Gallery (Maryland College of Art and Design), Harry Wood Gallery (Arizona State University) and was included in a group exhibition at the Corcoran Gallery (Washington DC).

In 2019 Anthony received a project grant for a large street art mural near the UN Campus in Germany highlighting their Sustainable Development Goals. In 2020 he received a stipend for artists awarded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. His conceptually motivated artwork is a blend of abstract form, text based images and figurative references using various media including painting, work on paper, video and animation.
