Post-op Cancer Exercise is an exercise program (different for each individual and taught as a private lesson) based on improving overall physical strength and flexibility, correcting muscle imbalances, preventing and managing lymphedema, increasing range of motion, correcting postural deviations as well as reducing pain and fatigue. This specially designed program aims to help patients regain a better quality of life after cancer and cancer treatment.

About the instructor:
Kareem Collins is a multi-sport athlete and coach as well as personal trainer. His most recent transition is working with post-op Cancer Survivors. His journey towards cancer exercise started with losing his mother in 2019. As a means to pay it forward he enrolled at the Cancer Exercise Training Institute in Portland Oregon and is now devoting time to helping survivors regain control of their lives after cancer and cancer treatment.
He has worked with Town Sports International as a Personal Trainer/ Group Exercise Instructor. He has also worked at Long Island University where he aided in research work for hypertension through exercise as well as facilitating a program called silver sneakers in which he worked with seniors from the community to improve quality of life prior to injuries sustained. Kareem is now based at 92NY where he also enjoys working with Parkinson's patients/clients, teaching group classes for strength training, senior group classes with the Himan Brown Senior Program, Mount Sinai Teen Program, Teen Boxing, as well as Fitness conditioning for young adults who are intellectually disabled.
