Join Art Center educator Riva Blumenfeld and Executive Director Allison Valchuis on a tour of a lifetime to immerse yourself in the best of contemporary art and Venice’s cultural treasures.

Discover the Venice Biennale, known as the “Olympics of Art” since 1895, featuring an impressive lineup of global artists at the Giardini. Witness the groundbreaking work of Jeffrey Gibson, the first solo Indigenous artist to represent the United States, alongside talents like John Akomfrah, Julien Creuzet, and Archie Moore.

Curated by Adriano Pedrosa, the Arsenale’s main exhibition, Foreigners Everywhere, spotlights artists enriched by global experiences, emphasizing diversity in race, gender, and nationality.

Complement your Biennale journey with a guided tour of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and an exploration of Venice’s artisan culture.

Riva  Blumenfeld

Riva Blumenfeld

Riva Blumenfeld received her M.A. from Hunter College, New York City, in 1984, and her B.A. from Washington University, St. Louis, in 1976. Blumenfeld leads tours and workshops at the Guggenheim Museum and the Museum of Modern Art for school groups K-12. She has taught at the Brooklyn Museum and the St. Louis Art Museum. Blumenfeld curated Totem, drawings by Tom Burckhardt at Tibor de Nagy Gallery, NY, which received an AICA award for best “emerging artist” exhibition, 2002. She served as a consultant to UNICEF and Binney & Smith, where she researched the viability ...
