Lisette Cooper, PhD, is the Vice Chair of Fiduciary Trust International and former CEO of Athena Capital Advisors. Lisette founded Athena Capital Advisors, an award-winning OCIO (outsourced Chief Investment Officer) and wealth management firm, which was sold to Fiduciary Trust International in March 2020. Lisette helped establish Athena Capital as one of the leaders in the field of impact investing. She is actively involved in investment strategy and relationship management for client portfolios. Lisette has appeared many times on national television and is widely quoted in the media. She holds the CFA designation as well as several patents. Lisette is a board member of the Boston Youth Sanctuary, the Mind and Life Institute, the Center for Heathy Minds Innovations and former chair of the board of The Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. She is a Mind and Life Fellow and has served as an Expert in Residence at the Harvard Innovation Lab. Lisette received her undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University and a PhD from Harvard University.

Shauntel Garvey is a Co-Founder and General Partner at Reach Capital where she funds people and ideas that empower learners, parents and educators across the education spectrum. Shauntel currently serves on the boards of Riipen and Holberton School. Prior to Reach, Shauntel was a Partner at the NewSchools Seed Fund and invested in over 40 early stage edtech companies including Newsela, Nearpod, and SchoolMint (acquired). Shauntel was previously a Senior Engineer at Procter and Gamble and received her BS in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and her MBA and MA in Education from Stanford University.

Geraldine Laybourne

Geraldine Laybourne is a serial “entrepreneur.” In the 80’s and 90’s she was a cable pioneer: she led the team that created Nickelodeon and Nick at Nite. In 1996 she was named as one of Time Magazine’s 25 Most Influential People. She then founded Oxygen Media to be a “convergence” network. Her approach to audiences has always been to listen hard and disrupt conventional wisdom. Oxygen was sold to NBC Universal in 2007.

Her current focus is in the city of Poughkeepsie where she is co-founder of DAY ONE Early Learning Community, a project aimed at creating a model for early learning opportunities for kids zero to four and eradicating generational poverty. She is working with MASS Design Group on community oriented revitalization projects and is on the Executive Committee of the Poughkeepsie Children’s Cabinet.

She currently serves on the board of directors of 9 Story, Common Sense Growth, Katapult Studios and Betaworks, is on the board of Vassar College and is Vice Chairman of the board of Vital Voices. She previously served on the board of directors at JCPenney, Electronic Arts, Symantec, Move.com, Insight Communications, and Kindercare.

Jonathan F.P. Rose

Jonathan F.P. Rose’s business, public policy and not-for-profit work all focus on creating more environmentally, socially and economically resilient cities. In 1989, Mr. Rose founded Jonathan Rose Companies LLC, a multi-disciplinary real estate development, planning, and investment firm, which creates real estate and planning models to address the challenges of the 21st century. The company’s mission is to develop communities that enhance opportunity for all. The firm’s work touches many aspects of community health; working with cities and not-for-profits to build affordable and mixed-income housing, cultural, health and educational infrastructure, and advocates for neighborhoods to be enriched with parks and open space, mass transit, jobs and healthy food.

Mr. Rose’s book on how to create resilient cities, The Well-Tempered City: What Modern Science, Ancient Civilizations and Human Nature Teach Us About the Future of Urban Life, was published by Harper Wave in 2016, and won the 2017 PROSE Award for Outstanding Scholarly Work by a Trade Publisher. Mr. Rose is a Trustee of Enterprise Community Partners and the Brooklyn Academy of Music and the Capital Institute. He and his wife Diana Calthorpe Rose are the co-founders of the Garrison Institute and he serves as co-chair on its Board. The Institute connects inner transformation with outer solutions to relieve suffering in the fields of trauma, education and the environment. He is an Honorary Member of the American Institute of Architects and Honorary Trustee of the American Museum of Natural History and Jazz at Lincoln Center.

Mr. Rose graduated from Yale University in 1974 with a B.A. in Psychology and Philosophy, and received a Masters in Regional Planning from the University of Pennsylvania in 1980.

Gene Todd

Gene Todd is the Executive Vice President and Director of Business Development, overseeing all aspects of client development at Fiduciary Trust Company International. He serves on Fiduciary Trust’s Management and Operating committees. Gene has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, including wealth management, private equity, venture capital, M&A and leveraged buyouts. Prior to joining Fiduciary Trust, Gene served as head of wealth management at First Bank, Inc., one of the country’s largest family-owned banks. Prior to joining First Bank, he served as director of sales at Key Private Bank and head of the Equity Sponsor Group at National City Corp., now PNC Bank. Prior to joining PNC, he was an investment banker at Morgan Stanley, focused on M&A and capital market transactions for leveraged buyout firms. Gene earned an MBA from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University. He is on the board of the Bank Insurance & Securities Industry (BISA).
