Join our Upper East Side Friday Morning Chamber Music Reading Group!
We welcome all string, wind, and piano players to this community-focused chamber music experience. All levels welcome.
Participants will sight-read and explore classical repertoire in a relaxed, supportive, and friendly setting. At the end of the spring semester, participants can showcase their progress in an optional performance.

Ruth Albert Spencer is a graduate of the Mannes College of Music. Her major teachers include Frank Sheridan, Carl Schacter and Leopold Mannes. She did her graduate work at Queens College (CUNY). Prof. Spencer is on the Music Dept. faculties of the City Univ. of New York and the 92nd Street Y. She is a recipient of a NY Council on the Humanities Grant, enabling her to give lectures on the relationship of Chopin and George Sand and to perform his music. Prof. Spencer has authored two books on Music Education and many articles, including one in Clavier on the Chopin Preludes. Ruth is proud to ...

Ruth is proud to have been a volunteer at Ground Zero for 9 months, and during that time she gave two solo piano recitals for rescue workers at St. Paul's Chapel.
