We’ll start our tour with a behind-the-scenes look at the Cornell Tech campus which houses an esteemed public art collection.
The campus is home to some of the world’s most environmentally-friendly architecture and is a hub for their interdisciplinary graduate programs in computing technology, design, business and law.
You’ll see works by contemporary artists like Michael Riedel, Matthew Ritchie, Alison Elizabeth Taylor as well as the abstract WPA mural by Ilya Bolotowsky that graced the walls of the Goldwater hospital that previously stood on this site.
After we’ll stroll together to the tip of the island through the Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms State Park. Designed by Louis Kahn, but not completed until 2012, the park and its memorials commemorate Roosevelt’s famous 1941 speech in which he described his vision for a world founded on four essential human freedoms: freedom of speech and expression, freedom of worship, freedom from want, and freedom from fear.
