A Reading by Playwright Ayad Akhtar

Dec 7, 2017

Playwright Ayad Akhtar won the Pulitzer Prize for Disgraced. His new play, Disgraced, a financial thriller called Junk, opens at Lincoln Center this fall. “Part Shakespearean history play, part The Big Short, here Akhtar takes on the equally explosive subjects of modern finance and the new religion of money,” wrote the Los Angeles Times. “Once again he provides an unflinchingly candid cross section of attitudes and positions in which our sympathies and antipathies keep shifting along lines that are too complex to be straightforwardly ideological.”

Here he reads from and discusses his work with New York Times journalist Michael Sokolove.
