State of New York — Why Childcare Matters

Grace Rauh, Brigid Bergin, Nicole Gelinas, Errol Louis and 92NY CEO Seth Pinsky

Dec 17, 2024

Join us for an essential discussion on the critical role of childcare in shaping the future of New York City. As families, employers, and policymakers grapple with the complexities of modern life, access to quality childcare has emerged as a linchpin of a thriving city.

A recent report estimated that in 2022 alone, the city lost $23 billion dollars in economic activity as a result of parents leaving the workforce or downshifting careers to meet child care needs. This conversation with Grace Rauh, whose organization released that report, will delve into how investing in childcare supports economic stability, reduces inequality, and lays the foundation for lifelong success for our youngest New Yorkers.

Journalists Nicole Gelinas, Errol Louis, and Brigid Bergin will then bring their insightful perspectives to the table.
