Martha Collins and Tyehimba Jess read from their work
Martha Collins reads her new book of poems, Admit One: An American Scrapbook, which utilizes documentary sources to trace the history of scientific racism in early 20th-century America. Tyehimba Jess reads from Olio— a “21st-century hymnal of black evolutionary poetry, a theatrical melange of miraculous meta-memory,” wrote Nikki Finney. “Inventive, prophetic, wondrous.” They are introduced by Cathy Park Hong and Erica Hunt.
