Introducing the winners of the 2015 Discovery Poetry Contest: Jessica Fjeld, Jenny George, Margaret Reges and Kit Schluter.
Over the decades, 92Y’s poetry contest has discovered such poets as John Ashbery, Lucille Clifton, Mark Strand and Mary Jo Bang. Preliminary judges were Timothy Donnelly and Camille Rankine. The final judges were Peter Gizzi, Atsuro Riley and Susan Stewart.
Jessica Fjeld is a poet, teacher and lawyer. She is the author of
Redwork (BOAAT Press 2018), and the chapbooks
The Tide (Pilot Books 2010) and
On animate life (2006), for which she received the Poetry Society of America’s Chapbook Fellowship.
Jenny George is the author of
The Dream of Reason (Copper Canyon 2018). She is the recipient of fellowships from the Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Fund, the MacDowell Colony, the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference and Yaddo.
Margaret Reges is a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. Her honors include fellowships from the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, the MacDowell Colony and the Vermont Studio Center.
Kit Schluter is a poet, translator and bookmaker living in Mexico City. His poetry & stories have appeared in

Hyperallergic, as well as numerous chapbooks and translations, including of books by Olivia Tapiero, Anne Kawala and Jaime Saenz, among others.
