Cynthia Ozick: Antiquities

In conversation with Lore Segal

May 3, 2021

Upon the release of her new novel, Antiquities, Cynthia Ozick — author of “some of the strangest, most intellectually daring and morally intelligent fiction of recent times” (The New York Times) — makes a rare public appearance to discuss the writer’s life with Lore Segal (Her First American and Shakespeare’s Kitchen).

In Antiquities — “a fascinating portrait of isolation, memory, and loss,” writes Publishers Weekly — a retired lawyer, estranged from family and friends, prepares a memoir of his days at boarding school, recalling a fascination with his own family’s heritage and the subtle anti-Semitism that pervaded the school.

Please note that this event will be a live conversation — but audio only.
