Lucy Aharish with Avi Issacharoff: Report from Israel
Arab-Israeli news anchor Lucy Aharish and Avi Issacharoff, journalist and co-creator of Netflix’s Fauda, go behind the headlines for an in-depth examination of the state of Israel post-October 7. Aharish, one of the most prominent television broadcasters in Israel — and the very first Arab Muslim news presenter on mainstream Hebrew-language Israeli media, hosts a daily news show on Reshet channel 13. Avi Issacharoff is an award-winning journalist and the creator of Israel’s hit TV series, Fauda, who served in the undercover unit on which the series is based. Together, they will provide on-the-ground and behind-the-scenes insights into the situation in Israel, Gaza and the West Bank. Among the topics discussed are the failure of leadership in Israel, both military and political; the failure to find a partnership for peace amidst the Palestinian leadership; who and where are the emerging leaders in the Palestinian Authority; what the mainstream media does not cover about the complexity of the conflict; and how this will end. Don’t miss the chance to hear insiders’ perspectives from two journalists with extensive experience of the area.
