UCP and Peacock’s Based on a True Story: Screening and Conversation with Star and Executive Producer Kaley Cuoco

Based on a True Story

Calling all true-crime devotees! Just when you thought you’d seen it all, Based on a True Story returns with even sharper twists in season two, and Kaley Cuoco is bringing an exclusive 2-episode screening to our stage. This dark comedic thriller blends satire, suspense, and complex family dynamics.

Season two finds new parents Ava (Kaley Cuoco) and Nathan Bartlett (Chris Messina) three months into parenthood. Focused on taking care of her family, Ava is determined to resist her true crime obsession and return to work as a real estate agent while Nathan trains private tennis clients. But a series of new murders pulls her back in – is Matt (Tom Bateman) behind the slayings? Is Tory (Liana Liberato), now entangled in a relationship with Matt, in danger? For a while, life is good — Ava’s TikTok habit and her new friend Drew (Melissa Fumero) provide a welcome distraction, and Nathan’s all in on reigniting his tennis career as well as his friendship with Matt — until danger comes knocking, literally.

Catch two episodes, then stay for a can’t-miss conversation with Kaley Cuoco herself. Get the scoop on what it’s like filming this deliciously sinister series, hear Cuoco’s insights on Ava’s evolution, and maybe get a hint about the season’s dark turns ahead.

The sophomore season premieres with all 8 episodes on November 21, 2024 on Peacock. Catch up on season one available on Peacock now.
