Students can bezel set their creations as earrings, brooches, or pendants, and accent them with gemstones. No previous enamel experience required.

Alex Tapnio is a university professional and artist with over two decades of experience in arts and lifelong learning programs. Alex’s art across metals, enamels, ceramics, lithography, and etching explores portraiture as well as art historical -‘isms’ through painting techniques in traditionally mechanical processes. Currently, he serves as the lead alumni officer at The New School, Parsons School of Design, where he oversees a global portfolio of community programs and networking initiatives at iconic events and spaces like the Centre Pompidou in Paris, Art Basel Miami, ...

Currently, he serves as the lead alumni officer at The New School, Parsons School of Design, where he oversees a global portfolio of community programs and networking initiatives at iconic events and spaces like the Centre Pompidou in Paris, Art Basel Miami, Shanghai Fashion Week, and SXSW. After earning art degrees from Indiana University and NYU, Alex focused his career in support of talented teen prodigies and arts audience development at prestigious intuitions like Columbia University, Cooper Union, Time Warner, Scholastic, Museum of Modern Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the U.S. National Gallery of Art. He’s thrilled to join the faculty of 92NY to further discover and nurture new voices and curious learners!
