Her father was the Chief of Staff at their tribal hospital and her mother is a nice Jewish girl from New Jersey. After her father’s early death Emily was separated from her Native family. Mat Tonti

Mat Tonti

Mat Tonti has been creating characters and comics since he drew a knock off of Snoopy, entitled Zoopy, when he was in 1st grade. Since then comics has been a constant source of inspiration and exploration in terms of storytelling, structures, and styles. When Mat began exploring Jewish tradition in earnest, hearing stories from Torah, midrash, and Chassidus, it was a natural move to translate them into comics. He finally compiled a book’s worth of Jewish stories, and published The Book Of Secrets in 2020. He and his wife are currently adapting Glikl of Hamburg’s 17th century m ...
