Susan Barth has professional training in jewelry making and design that spans back over the last thirty years. In the start of her career she apprenticed for five years at a jewelry firm in New York City that often produced pieces for Tiffany's, after which she went to work for Barry Kieselstein-Cord, a well known New York jewelry designer and stayed for six years working on the creation of new collections. It was at the end of this time, that she switched to freelancing, making original models for designers, which allowed her the time and flexibility to begin the development of her own work. A few years later Susan launched the Susan Barth Design collection which brought her an award at the Baltimore Craft Show.
