The Raw Materials of Movement offers dancers the opportunity to work on the craft of making dances.
We learn to choreograph by choreographing, experimenting with movement on our own and each others’ bodies, sensing, forming, phrasing movement material. In this class through improvisation and structured processes, we will work with movement in its analysable aspects — time, space, dynamics, shape, sensation, structure. With live music provided by Takao Heisho we will also be able to explore the relationship of dance and music. Open to dancers intermediate level and above or by permission of instructor.
