Create your own characters and bring them to life in this exciting class!
Using simple techniques and materials students will discover how their favorite books and cartoons are made. Young artists will learn the basics of drawing and progress from still images to creating the magic of movement in their own artwork. The first half of the class will focus on learning the fundamentals of illustration. After students have honed their drawing skills, they will explore the world of traditional hand made animation techniques like stop motion and flip books. Through individual and group projects, students will be inspired to create their own characters and use them to develop stories and worlds. In addition, students will be challenged to use critical thinking skills to solve problems and make creative decisions!
All supplies are included.

Harry has been drawing and writing comics now for over a decade, and has only grown to love them more and more. He especially likes exploring concepts through high stakes fantastical adventures, featuring incredibly unlikely heroes and villains. He lives in New York City with an endlessly supportive partner, a fresh faced three year old son, and a very patient small old cat.
