Tina Curran is co-founder and director of the Language of Dance Center, USA. She is a doctoral candidate in dance education at New York University focusing on dance literacy and holds an MFA in choreographic theory and practice from Southern Methodist University and a BFA in dance from The Juilliard School. As a Language of Dance Certification specialist, she conducts certification and teacher education courses, presents at national and international dance conferences, and develops notation teaching resources. She was a contributor to the development of the landmark New York City Department of Education Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Arts and has been active in its implementation as a professional development educator. An internationally recognized master teacher, she also is active in staging masterworks from Labanotation score.
