Imani Arrington, a Brooklyn Native studied under Angel Chinn and has performed with her company NonaLee Dance Theatre since 2014. Imani continued her training at Queensborough Community College. During her time there, she worked with resident teaching artists Emily Berry, Aviva Geismar and participated in the 2016 National ACDA Conference at the Kennedy Center performing Here choreographed by Marjani Forte Saunders. Imani shifted focus from college to pursue her passion and purpose within Hip Hop’s dance culture and community. Since then, she has had the opportunity to work with mentors, TweetBoogie, Buddha Stretch, Michele Byrd McPhee, Terry ‘Cebo’ Carr as well as perform at APAP, Ladies of Hip Hop Festival and Breakin’ Convention NYC. Imani currently teaches, performs and trains through non profit organizations, Ladies of Hip Hop Festival and Global Arts To Go.
