Dr. Daniel May currently teaches at Hebrew Union College in New York City. He received his PhD in Religion, Ethics, and Politics in the Department of Religion at Princeton University, where he studied Modern Jewish Thought and Political Theory. In addition to his academic work, Daniel has over two decades of experience in community, labor and political organizing and is currently serving as Lead Organizer for a joint partnership project between Congregation Beth Elohim and Antioch Baptist Church in Brooklyn. Daniel’s writing has appeared in The Good Society, The Jewish Quarterly Review, Reform Judaism, The Nation, Tablet, Haaretz, and Jewish Currents. He graduated magna cum laude from Pomona College and holds a Masters in Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School.
