Chris Coogan has played with an endless list of renowned musicians including: Dave Liebman, Randy Brecker, Lew Soloff, Jimmy Vivino, John Tropea, Chris Parker, Steven Van Zandt, Gene Wilder, Chevy Chase, Paul Shaffer, Harold Danko, Ronnie Spector, Darlene Love, Ben E. King, Tevin Cambell, James Naughton, Larry Coryell, Phoebe Snow, Jose Feliciano, Bette Midler, Donna Summer, Will Lee, Shawn Pelton, Vaneese Thomas, Mavis Staples, Freda Payne, Robin Batteau, Sharon Bryant, Rob Mathes, Kristen Chenoweth, Kelli O’Hara, Marilyn Maye, Tanja Walker, Ivan Rutherford, Kevin Gray, Carol Burnett, Rosie O’Donnell, Shawn Colvin, Joe Bouchard of Blue Oyster Cult, accompanied singers from Chicago and Phantom of the Opera, as well as jazz arranging for Teo Macero, (producer for the late Miles Davis and Dave Brubeck). His Gospel credentials include performing with Take 6, Al Sharpton, and Richard Smallwood, Jesse Jackson, Maya Angelou.

He appeared on television’s Celebrity Jeopardy and the Arsenio Hall Show and has performed at Manhattan’s Blue Note, Birdland and the Montreaux Jazz Festival.

As a composer his credits include winner of the John Lennon Songwriting competition for jazz. He has performed locally at parties for Martha Stewart, Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward and been asked to perform for President Bill and Hillary Clinton. He is the director of the Good News Gospel Choir, performing locally at many area churches and festivals.
