Learning as enjoyment. Moving from passively watching educational videos to engaging with a live group in real time. Mapping the world in our own ways by exploring the things that interest us most. Finding an unexpected connection to a fellow student who lives halfway across the world. This spring — after two years of growing our online courses that blossomed out of the pandemic — we have taken everything we learned about how online audiences connect with brilliant experts online, and built a whole new virtual learning experience.
“The class on Auden is more than just a great course — it’s an all-time treasure. The payoff — in absorbing scholarly learning, and feeling, and the joy of enhanced understanding and appreciating the genius of Auden’s achievement — is enormous.”

We called it Roundtable, because our online experience gives everyone a voice and a seat at the table — and because communication and connection with the leader and your fellow participants are as important as the course takeaways.
“The people I’ve met [in 92NY courses] have been really amazing.”

And we built it with you in mind, making it easy to navigate, and removing barriers so that you can quickly and easily get to the program.
At Roundtable, you’ll find many of your favorite experts who have been with you through the pandemic — like Columbia film professor Annette Insdorf, political analyst Ralph Buultjens, Shakespeare scholar James Shapiro, architectural historian Francis Morrone and master chefs Nick Malgieri and Kate McDermott.
“I love hearing Ralph Buutljens’ brilliant lectures every week. His incredible knowledge and insights help me to navigate these challenging times.”

Joining them will be more exceptional experts from across the US and the world: Merve Emre (Oxford University/the New Yorker), Caseen Gaines (Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone), Adrienne Mayor (Stanford), Mutale Nkonde (CEO, AI for the People), celebrated wine correspondent Jancis Robinson, leading translator Sarah Ruden, and many more.
Highlights of this season include bestselling and acclaimed author Jane Smiley making her 92NY teaching debut with a course on T.H. White’s The Once and Future King; Peniel Joseph, the Black Power Studies expert and Associate Dean for Justice, Equity, Diversion and Inclusion at UT Austin, who leads a course on Malcolm X and MLK Jr. that offers a transformational understanding of these iconic leaders; and Stanford professor Adrienne Mayor on the stupendous achievements of the ancient Amazon warrior women, explored through myth, history and science.
