Elie Wiesel was a guiding beacon at 92Y for more than half a century. His pursuit of justice and his unwavering belief in the power of humanity embodied our most deeply held values. Over nearly half a century, on 180 occasions, Elie Wiesel graced the stage at 92Y with his wonder and wisdom. His memory is indeed a great blessing. In these recordings, Elie Wiesel leaves us a tremendous legacy – one that will forever inspire us to, as he once so beautifully said, “Think higher and feel deeper.”
A Rosh Hashanah theme — the prospect of “beginning again, beginning anew” — appears many times in his lectures, especially in relation to the challenge of rebuilding in the aftermath of catastrophe.
