Dialogue for Democracy: Combatting Polarization through Conversation

Join 92NY’s Belfer Center for Innovation & Social Impact for two evenings of interactive community-building and conversation about our shared American values in the lead up to and aftermath of the 2024 election.

October 30, 2024 from 7-8:30 pm: A Pre-Election Community-Building Experience

November 12, 2024 from 7-8:30 pm: Community-Building in the Wake of the 2024 Election

America is at the height of a divisive election season, with candidates presenting starkly different visions for our nation. For years, across the political spectrum, we have been told that our ideological differences are irreconcilable. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

What to expect:

Inspired by 92NY’s Share Our America initiative — designed to help people build the foundation for change by forging trust across differences — Dialogue for Democracy offers a unique chance to share your perspectives and hopes for the country. Both events will follow the same format, but will include different discussion questions. We invite you to join us for both conversations!

At both events, participants will experience:

  • Guided small group discussion that allows you to share your unique experience of this election season and hear from others
  • Judgment-free conversation that emphasizes sharing and listening, facilitated by expert moderators
  • An opportunity to share ideas on how we move forward, more united

Engaging, fun, and potentially transformative, Dialogue for Democracy connects you with your community for a conversation that seems all but impossible in our political culture — but nothing is impossible when we come together. Don’t miss this opportunity to take part in a timely dialogue on the future of our democracy. Join us, and one another, to help imagine a more trusting future. Limited seats available!
