One of the Most Thrilling Duos in Music
Violin virtuoso Leila Josefowicz’s commitment to and passion for contemporary music led to her being awarded a prestigious MacArthur Fellowship for her unique contributions to the arts. Her long-time and critically acclaimed musical partnership with the superb pianist, John Novacek, allows for performances that are breathtaking in their daring and excitement.
Hear the duo in an adventuresome program that includes one of Prokofiev’s darkest and most towering masterpieces, an arrangement of Sibelius’s lovely, sweeping Valse Triste, John Adams’s evocative, distinctly American Road Movies (a signature piece of duo’s), and a compelling sonata by modern German composer, Bernd Alois Zimmermann, in recognition of the 100th anniversary of his birth.
Leila Josefowicz, violin
John Novacek, piano
Concert running time is approximately one hour, thirty minutes.
