Performers of all levels have an extraordinary opportunity to train with professionals in the 92NY Summer Musical Theater Intensive.
Whether your child has been performing for years, or are new to the art form, this is the perfect program for them. Students will participate in various classes, including jazz, hip hop, musical theater, contemporary, acting, singing, choreography/composition, and art. They will also get to experience producing a mini musical, culminating in a showcase for friends and family.
Full summer session runs from July 7–August 15. You can sign up for the full summer, one week, or anything in between. It is a full experience, running all summer from 10 am-3 pm (with extended care options (9-10 am and 3-4 pm).

Online classes take place on Zoom where instructors are able interact with students and view their progress in real time.

Megan Doyle, Director of Musical Theater at 92nd Street Y, is an accomplished dance and theatre professional with extensive experience as a teacher, administrator, and performer. She holds an M.A. in Dance Education from New York University, a B.A. in English and Secondary Education from St. Joseph’s College and is a graduate of the Dance Education Laboratory. Currently, Megan is pursuing her Doctorate in Educational Theatre at NYU.

Megan directs and choreographs unique professional dance theatre experiences for children and adults including the 92Y productions Dorothy’s Adventures in Oz, A is for Audra, The Velveteen Rabbit, Red Riding Hood, and Adventure to Neverland. In 2018, she developed the 92Y Musical Theater Development Lab, producing original workshop productions including From The Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, Molly the Manatee, and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. She has also choreographed for American Girl, Netflix, Lululemon, and Disney.
Megan’s interest in pedagogy extends well beyond the classroom. She is a facilitator of programming, consulting on syllabi, lesson-planning, mission, and overall strategic thinking for children’s dance and theatre programs throughout the country. She is also a highly sought-after teacher. From individual coaching to large scale convention teaching, Megan brings joy, fire, tenacity, and clarity to every class.
As a performer, Megan is proud to have spent 5 years on tour as Anne in The Diary of Anne Frank. Other favorite touring/regional theatre credits include: Class Dismissed: The Bullying Project, The Sound of Music (Leisl), Sugar Babies (Soubrette), Into the Woods (Little Red), West Side Story (Anybodys) and Anything Goes (Erma).

Chelsey Storteboom is a New York City based singer, dancer, actress, and educator who has been teaching at 92nd Street Y since 2015. Born and raised in Vancouver, BC, she graduated from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy and has performed in many theaters throughout North America. Here at 92Y, Chelsey has performed with 92Y Theater for Young Audiences in several shows, including Adventure to Neverland (Captain Hook), Dorothy’s Adventures in Oz (Aunt Em), Red Riding Hood (Grandma), and many more!
