92Y’s Partner Lessons are a great way to learn with a friend! Join us for partner beginner guitar!
If you’re starting out on a new instrument, our Partner Lessons offer engaging, personalized instruction at a great value from our renowned teaching faculty. You can learn with a friend, or be matched with another student by our experienced administrative staff. Each session is limited to two students and will take place on an online platform.
In Partner Lessons students will learn how to tune the guitar, hold a pick, read chord diagrams and play open chords, learn basic finger exercises and technique. Students will learn music based on their mutual interests and skill level. Bring your own guitar.

Guitarist Andrew Hartman is active as a performer, composer and educator in the New York City area. Performing as a bandleader and sideman, Hartman regularly works in a variety of genres, including jazz, rock and pop, and music theatre. His albums Compass and Andrew Hartman and Still Motion feature his original music arranged and performed in trio, quartet and quintet settings.
