For intermediate to advanced students looking to expand and refine their skills in watercolor painting, students will delve into techniques and approaches specific to working with watercolor, focusing on still-life compositions.
Through step-by-step lessons and live demonstrations, students will explore advanced painting techniques, including creating value sketches, understanding proportions, applying various brushwork for expressive effects, and experimenting with unconventional limited palettes. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to practice vocabulary and concepts in composition, drawing, painting, and color theory, culminating in a critique format to analyze and interpret their work and that of others. This course not only aims to enhance technical skills but also encourages students to develop their artistic vision and creativity within the watercolor medium.
