Art and the environment are very much intertwined, and in this course young artists will explore this connection.
Students will learn how everyday objects that we use (and discard) can be utilized for making something new. Using recyclables, found objects, and materials from nature, this class explores various techniques such as printmaking, collage, husk dolls & plant dyes. Students adopt a philosophy of sustainable art-making, seeing the possibilities in items that are often overlooked as waste.
