Neurocognitive disorders create many complications in the lives of those who are affected, including family members and care partners.
One very common area of difficulty is communication breakdown. The recommended strategies for overcoming these challenges can really help! This workshop will introduce the basics of communication strategies, with significant time dedicated to answering questions.
This talk is part of the 92NY Program for Cognitive Strength and Ability Caregiver Support Series. The Caregiver Support Series is conducted monthly, via Zoom. These live programs are free and open to the community. Each month features an expert speaker in the field of Cognitive Loss, Health, Mental Health or Caregiving and Quality of Life Enrichment. The goal of the Caregiver Support Program is to connect people who have a loved one dealing with cognitive loss with different types of information and resources as well as with others in similar situations. We end each meeting by giving participants the chance to receive virtual support by entering small breakout rooms where they can connect with each other in a setting moderated by a member of our staff. Monthly topics and speakers are posted on the 92NY site. All talks are recorded and available for viewing after the session.
