Our 5-day sleepaway program provides the perfect environment for a first-time sleepaway experience, with exceptional staff members who are sensitive to the particular needs of our campers.

92NY Discover Camp takes place just 2 and a half hours from New York City, at Chestnut Lake, a 200-acre facility in Wayne County, PA, in the Pocono Mountains. Children are encouraged to learn, explore and play in an atmosphere that awakens their curiosity, builds self-esteem, nurtures their talents and creates lasting memories and enduring friendships.

92NY Discover Camp provides a take of everything offered at camp. Campers gain confidence and self-esteem as they enjoy new and challenging experiences. They participate in a wide variety of exciting activities, including water sports, athletics, specialized arts, nature and much more. Nightly entertainment includes talent shows, dances, barbeques and twilight sports under the stars.

Activities include athletics (soccer, basketball, softball, tennis, rollerblading), adventure (archery, zipline, mountain biking, ropes course), waterfront (Olympic size pool, private lake, boating, banana boating, waterskiing), specialized arts (ceramics, painting, woodworking), nature, cooking and more.

Evening programs include barbeques, campfires, talent shows, dances and more.

What is the Tuition?

92NY Discover Camp is an add-on to 2 or more weeks of Camp Yomi or Camp Ilanot for campers entering 2nd-4th grade. The cost of 92NY Discover is $600 and includes the 5-day, 4-night sleepaway camp experience, as well as round-trip transportation, canteen fees, and a camp t-shirt.

Where does 92NY Discover Camp take place?

92NY Discover Camp takes place at Chestnut Lake Camp, in Wayne County, PA. Our campers enjoy full use of the facility and beautiful, rustic surroundings and connect with many campers from across the Tri-state area. There is a private lake with a variety of boating activities, outstanding arts and athletics facilities and beautiful wooded areas with hiking and biking trails.

Where will my camper sleep?

The bunk is a place for close-knit conversations and learning how to live with others; an atmosphere that fosters trust and cooperation and leads to lifelong friendships. Bunks house 10 to 12 children and two to three staff members, and each bunk is equipped with indoor showers and bathrooms.

What will my child eat at Discover Camp?

Camp cuisine, prepared in a fully modern kitchen, provides campers with many delicious options. Food is served cafeteria style, so campers get to choose what to eat, a fact sure to please those with particular tastes.

Is there medical staff on site?

A fully equipped infirmary is staffed by registered nurses and a resident doctor is available at all times. In case of an emergency, there is a hospital 15 minutes away.

Our warm, caring, mature staff is made up of dedicated college students and educators who are committed to giving your child the experience of a lifetime. 92NY Discover Camp counselors nurture each child’s particular interests and needs, providing a hand to hold, an ear to listen, a shoulder to lean on and always an encouraging word. Campers feel safe and secure ... and so do parents. The 92NY Discover Camp Director serves as a contact for parents through the time of the child’s stay. 92NY Discover Camp also benefits from the presence of all of the staff of Chestnut Lake Camp, an organization that has been providing excellent summers to children for 14 summers!
