Water & Oil: Solvent-Free Oil Painting
Instructor: Wennie Huang
Course Description:
Whether you are seasoned oil painter looking to eliminate noxious solvents from your supply list, a pastellist who want to try painting, or a watercolor painter curious about oil painting, this two-day intensive covers the basics for painting with Cobra water mixable oil paints, made with the same high quality pigments as traditional oil paints with an added emulsion that allows for thinning pigments with just water and cleaning brushes with just soap and water. If you already have your own solvent-reliant oil paints you can purchase the emulsion gel that can be mixed with your paints to turn them into water-mixable oil paints. For day one of this workshop, we will be working from a simple still-life set-up in the studio, or you can set-up your own.
