  • Hand file - #2 cut, half round

  • Silver Solder, hard, medium, easy, 1 ft each.
  • Solder pick with wooden handle
  • Small paintbrush for flux

  • Sheet Metal (price varies) It is recommended to use 1X3 inches 18ga silver sheet to make the ring and the bezel for the stone. It would be possible to make the ring and bezel with a base metal such as copper or brass, though many people cannot wear base metals. Their skin could turn green where the ring sits on the finger.
  • Finally, a round or oval cabochon stone should be brought to the workshop. 5 to 20mm The color or type (amythest, quartz, carnelian, etc.) is up to the student.
Suppliers:

Dikra Gems is a good source to shop locally. Good prices. Good to students. Go with a price one would spend on the stone.

If one is unable to visit a local dealer, go to the Rio Grande site, and order a cabochon stone from that site …
