Creating Jewelry with Aluminum Wire

TOOLS: Tools will be available for the first class. We will discuss what to buy at this class.

- Round nose pliers
- Flat nose pliers
- Cutters

WIRE: All aluminum
Essential: Aluminum wire comes in many colors. Please buy the silver color to start.
For the first week round wire will be used. It will then be used throughout the class. I suggest buying the 180 foot roll (#1). You will feel more free to experiment, and not worry about running out of material. Most likely you will want to continue after the class is over!! If you prefer, the 39 foot coil will be fine (#2).
The 18 gauge aluminum wire (#5) is also needed for the first class. Feel free to buy a smaller spool to start.
There are two styles of textured flat wire. This is not essential for the first class.
I would suggest starting with the woodgrain pattern (#4). It is less distracting to work with at the beginning. The pattern in #3 is more complex, and is also ok to use.

Optional: Seed beads, small beads, and large gemstones - with, and without holes, will be used. There will be enough beads supplied by the Y to start. As you become more proficient, you will see what you would like to add.
