3D Collage and Assemblage

Supply List:

  • X-acto type knife with a supply of blades
  • Cutting mat (12” x 18”)
  • Metal 12” ruler
  • 1 pair of good scissors
  • Assorted pencils
  • Masking tape
  • Glue sticks
  • Neutral pH Adhesive, or Elmers glue is fine
  • Inexpensive bristle or synthetic brush, 1” or 2” for glue and painting
  • Smaller brushes (for details)
  • Modge podge
  • Cardboard and packaging materials
  • Gesso

RECOMMENDED (but not required):

  • Yes! Paste
  • A selection of small wooden objects.
  • A selection of papers (such as origami paper, colored paper, Japanese paper, patterned or construction paper - many stores will sell mixed packs of papers that are fun to use. (For a range of exotic papers, I recommend ordering from Hiromi Paper or Talas.)
  • Found objects such as dried leaves, sticks, pressed flowers, kitchen detritus such as bottle caps, old ribbons, buttons, fabric scraps, seashells, feathers, etc.
  • Watercolor paper
  • Acrylic or watercolor paint
  • Colored pens and pencils
  • Newspaper
