CREATIVITY FOR THE COMMON GOOD

Kickstarter Co-Founder Yancey Strickler with Jessi Hempel

Mar 9, 2016

The company began in 2009 with a simple but important mission: help bring creative projects to life. To date, thousands of artists, musicians, filmmakers, designers and other creators have found the resources and support they need to make their ideas a reality. And now, in their boldest move yet, Kickstarter is becoming a public-benefit corporation to serve the greater good as well as its shareholders. Kickstarter’s Co-Founder and CEO Yancey Strickler talks with Jessi Hempel, senior editor at Wired, about how Kickstarter measures success, the culture he hopes to help create and the unique genius of doing business differently.
