William Hogan: On Geography and Energy

Oct 31, 2012

Harvard Kennedy School's William Hogan spoke to us about the intersection between geography and energy.  Hogan points to a variety of examples, including war in the Middle East increasing oil prices around the world and natural disasters in Japan causing Germany to reverse its energy policy.  On energy independence, Hogan says it is not within our reach and "probably wouldn't be attractive if we were able to achieve it."  He instead advises us to diversify and develop alternative supplies in order to engage in world trade.

92nd Street Y’s Campaign for the American Conversation offers you insight and analysis from the best minds at the Harvard Kennedy School. HKS is collaborating with us on American Conversation Essentials – videos that explain the issues at play during this campaign year.
