Ted Danson and Dr. Sylvia Earle: What You Need to Know About Mercury in Fish

Apr 20, 2011

Saving our oceans is a mater of national defense, job creation and public health. While overfishing is disrupting ecosystems, industrial pollution is releasing mercury - a health risk for pregnant women and young children - into our waters at alarming rates. Ted Danson and Dr. Sylvia Earle discuss which fish have the highest levels of mercury and what you can do.

Sylvia Earle is explorer in residence at the National Geographic Society and recently led the Google Ocean Advisory Council, a team of 30 marine scientists providing content and scientific oversight for "Ocean" in Google Earth. Ted Danson is an award-winning actor, author (Oceana: Our Endangered Oceans and What We Can Do to Save Them), producer and environmentalist.
