The film's star, Joanna Kulig, who gives a stunning performance. This Polish stage and screen actress is revelatory playing a singer who goes from being part of a folk music troupe to a sultry chanteuse in Paris cabarets. Kulig's previous films include Ida, The Innocents, The Woman in the Fifth, and Elles.
